Sinochem New Net News Steroidal drugs are the second largest class of drugs after antibiotics. Recently, the research team of Professor Wei Toshiba from the Luhua Institute of Biotechnology of East China University of Science and Technology has made important breakthroughs in the metabolic mechanism of steroid drugs and new production technologies. The team has clarified a number of key mechanisms for the conversion of sterols into useful steroidal drug intermediates for the production of steroidal drugs by mycobacteria, and the application results of the project have applied for a number of patents and are preparing for industrialization.
